Opeaus' Observations: 26 January 2024
“Anyone can be a millionaire, but to become a billionaire you need an astrologer” – J.P. Morgan
Back in early March of last year I published the first of what were intended to be a regular series of articles using Astrology as a ‘looking glass’ into our collective future; this series was entitled ‘Opeaus’ Observations’. But, as with many good intentions during 2023, life and time have run away with me, and now here we find ourselves already a month into 2024. Therefore, it is about time for the second of these articles, and a detailed astrological look at the year ahead (what follows was originally penned over the latter weeks of November 2023, and has been edited and updated, for what has turned out to be a delayed publication in January 2024).
2023 was an interesting year all told, and the events that we have all watched unfold during last year (particularly the latter months) have been setting the stage for what is coming down the line in 2024 and beyond. In fact, I previously wrote about the years ahead in ‘The Astrological significance of Uranus’ and ‘The emerging Trans-Saturnian Times’. Those articles outlined the cycle(s) that we here on Earth are trapped within, focusing primarily on the ‘relationship’ between Saturn and Uranus – particularly our present Saturn-Uranus cycle, which started in 1988 - and more importantly Saturn’s sojourn through Pisces since 7 March 2023 (which will last until 13 February 2026 - this date being the culmination of another cycle that commenced back in 1996).
2024 however, is going to bring the furthest planet from us ‘Pluto’ (or to the ancient Greeks - Hades) into sharp relief (as will become clear with the telling of today’s tale). Throughout the coming year we are all going to be asked to reappraise ‘how we take action in this world of ours’, and more specifically - how can we utilise the element of ‘fire’, because almost all four of 2024’s ‘Mercury’ retrogrades (baring its five day sojourn within the zodiac sign of ‘Virgo’), are going to be taking place in each of the zodiac fire signs over the coming year. You may be asking, what exactly is a Mercury Retrograde? Well, usually three (and sometimes four), times a year, the mercurial planet closest to the ‘Sun’ appears to move backward across the sky for a period of roughly three weeks. ‘Appears’ is a keyword here, because no planet ever actually moves backward in their orbit around the Sun. The ‘Retrograde-Station-Direct’ planetary cycles are illusions that result from our point of view from here on ‘Earth’.
Knowledge and understanding of the impact of Mercury retrogrades seems to have exploded across all sorts of media and groups of individuals since 2020, such that a topic which once was only the reserve of Astrologers and New Age Mystics, has now become somewhat mainstream, with many people (particularly those aged under 30) embracing and tailoring their lives in accordance with these astrological periods. Mercury turns retrograde more frequently than any other planet. It can never be more than ‘28 degrees’ from the Sun, and whenever it reaches its furthest distance, it appears to change direction. As the planet of communication, the Mercury (or ‘Hermes’ to the ancient Greeks) retrograde energy often creates a certain level of ‘confusion’.
Mercury rules our ‘lower’ mind (it governs how we perceive and interpret information from our environment, and how we relay that information to others), as such the planet Mercury has ‘rulership’ over speaking, listening, negotiating (and as a result – contracts and official documents), travel, and shipping (to name but a few of the main areas of its influence). All of these spheres of ‘life’ are thus affected when Mercury goes retrograde. Decision-making is ‘challenged’, it is unadvisable to agree or sign any contracts or make ‘agreements’, engage in important decision-making, or launch a new business or ‘endeavour’. Instead, this period of cosmic time is best used for re-organising and ‘reflecting’ on what has come before.
During such retrograde periods, it is best to check and then double-check ‘everything’, and watch what you say (because it may not come out, or indeed be ‘received’, the way you intended it to). It is a period of time to be ‘understanding’ of other’s words and actions in order to avoid ‘confrontation’ and often explosive ‘backlash’. However, it is also a great time to get in touch with ‘yourself’ and discover new ways of looking at ‘life’; an ideal ‘cycle’ in which to discover new ways of ‘communicating’ our ideas and thoughts.
As such, now would be an ideal time to note this planet’s retrogrades over the year ahead – 2024 began with Mercury languishing in the final two days of its retrograde period through the sign of ‘Sagittarius’. At the same time, the Sun was in ‘Capricorn’ (the sign of long-range vision), so it seemed fitting that we began this year with a ‘soul-searching’ review of our ‘intentions’. With Mercury ending its 2023 retrograde period on ‘New Year’s Day’, the start to 2024 ensured that we all commenced this new year suddenly feeling ‘instinctually’ aligned (not just mentally, but in our views, beliefs, emotional feelings and understanding of this world – more importantly, of how it all really ‘works’, and what forces are working for good or evil). On New Years Day the Mercurial arrow was released from its Sagittarian bow; and its flight thus heralded the start of what could well turn out to be a more monumental year than the past few years have been (If you can believe that is even possible).
From 1 April to the 25 April, Mercury goes retrograde in ‘Aries’, and this period will urge us all to be more ‘cautious’ with important financial matters. Rushing headlong into any financial decisions during this period might well lead to some significant ‘complications’ later on. Then from 5 August to the 28 August, Mercury moves from ‘Virgo’ into ‘Leo’ during its retrograde. This retrograde phase spans the middle of the year, and ‘miscommunications’ during this time will add to the vast challenges that the ‘Jupiter-Saturn square’ poses during this period of 2024 (we can expect some fiery exchanges, and a potential overabundance of ‘pride’ on display). It’s essential that people avoid making any ‘hasty decisions’ at this time. 2024 then ends with Mercury revisiting ‘Sagittarius’ from 25 November to the 15 December, which will likely heavily impact upon festive holiday plans (particularly those that involve travel), expect a seemingly endless series of delays and frustrating ‘complications’ likely as 2024 draws to a close.
January 2024 has brought an end to some of the astrological influences that Earth, and each one of us, have been subject to throughout 2023. But this has been particularly pronounced over the last few months, which have seen some fundamental shifts in the ‘power plays’ that plague our lives in this capricious reality we find ourselves in. Hot on the heels of Mercury going direct, ‘Mars’ the planet of ‘War’ entered ‘Capricorn’ (where it joined forces with the Sun) on 4 January 2024. This transit produced a rather calculated (and persistent) ‘energy’ which has resulted in ‘most of us’ actively, and carefully considering the ‘future’ (and the consequences of any actions we might take in the ‘here and now’), in order to avoid any costly backlash down the road (I say ‘most of us’ because we all know that astrological influences and their resultant energies can be diverted for other purposes and ‘results’ by those who know how – those who have been particularly busy since the latter months of last year).
This ‘Martian’ energy actually made us slow to anger, but also induced a ‘colder’, more detached attitude to events (particularly for those individuals and groups who have been ‘frustrated’ during this time). So January 2024 has been a period in which we have all been witness to the ‘shadowy’ side of Mars in ‘Capricorn’, this has manifested itself in ‘rigidity’, and the ‘digging in of heels’ on matters where the future (and by extension - the consequences of past actions), are not forefront in the minds of those planning and executing action(s) around the globe (I’m look specifically at you here Israel, and to a lesser extent the USA and UK). However this period we currently find ourselves in will be brief, and the ‘tide will turn’ when Mars enters ‘Aquarius’ on 13 February 2024.
The first big astrological event of 2024 also occurred this month. Pluto moved into the sign of ‘Aquarius’ again on 20 January, and on the same day the Sun entered this zodiac sign. Pluto will be retrograding back into ‘Capricorn’ from 31 August – 18 November one last time (it's been hanging out there since 2008, and if you haven’t felt the influence of that, then you will be unable to escape the ‘energy’ released once it leaves for good); before moving back into ‘Aquarius’ again where it will remain until 2043! Pluto energy creates power and control, but also ‘self-regeneration’. Whilst ‘Aquarius’, represents information (and in essence), the full blown digital age that we currently find ourselves witnessing the painful birth of (we can already see the effects that the decentralisation of information is having upon our society. Many people are trapped within their echo chambers, sure that their perspective is the only perspective as they get it reverberated back to them day in and day out).
With so many strong and distinct ‘realities’ operating at once, this Pluto transit will usher in a powerful theme; that of ‘personal power’ and ‘self-control’, and not just in the digital age, but in nearly all aspects of our lives here on Earth. Pluto represents our deepest ‘instincts’ on an energetic level. And 2024 is a very important time to ensure that we are all fully aligned with our own ‘instincts’. This will be accentuated by the ‘Lunar Nodes’ and the ‘Eclipses’ during the coming year (not to mention those of last year – the effects of which are still unfolding). Solar eclipses are powerful cosmic events known to bring about change. When the ‘Moon’ briefly covers the Sun during an eclipse, it symbolises a ‘challenge to established authority’ and ‘order’. When one happens in the assertive sign of ‘Aries’ (as will be the case on 8 April 2024), tensions are often created between ‘individual freedom’ and the ‘greater good’.
The zodiac sign of ‘Aries’ represents leadership, initiative, and at its core – an overwhelming desire for ‘independence’. The coming eclipse in April of this year could lead to a very real sense of ‘standing up for one’s rights’ and asserting oneself (potentially globally). We could quite possibly see new movements and even events that prioritise the individual freedoms of people(s), however, the eclipse could also result in conflicts between nations or groups with divergent interests. The collective desire for independence and self-expression may clash with the need for compromise and cooperation. Furthermore, it is important to remember that the effects of a solar eclipse can last for months or even years. Therefore, the ‘Total Solar Eclipse’ in ‘Aries’ on 8 April 2024, could very well trigger a series of significant events and initiate some massive changes on a global scale (not to mention that ugly spectre - ‘War’).
In fact, relationship dynamics appear to be the order of the day, they will be all year (and in fact have been for the two preceding it). As well as the eclipse in ‘Aries’, we will also be experiencing a Solar Eclipse in ‘Libra’ on 2 October 2024 (The former of these two events representing ‘Me’ and the latter ‘We’). Last year the Solar eclipses occurred in the signs of ‘Taurus’ and ‘Scorpio’ (‘self-worth’ and ‘intimacy’). With the Lunar North Node (and eclipse) in ‘Aries’ and the Lunar South Node (and eclipse) in ‘Libra’, there is a strong emphasis on ensuring that any actions we undertake in this world come from a place that is ‘true’ to us, not only as individuals but as a ‘whole’. We achieve this by being attuned to our own ‘inner compass’. It is important for each of us to be aware of the ways and means of personally ‘regenerating’ our own energy, and actively try to discard any emotional, energetic, or physical ‘stagnancy’ we have within our lives.
This is a good thing, eclipses are ‘turning points’ in our lives (whether we want them or not). And while it may be easy to get lost in the vast amount of ‘literature’ out there on ‘relating’, at the heart of the eclipses in March (we will have a Penumbral Lunar Eclipse on 25 March in ‘Libra’), April, September (a partial Lunar Eclipse on 18 September in ‘Pisces’) and October of this year, is a movement towards ‘building’ safety in order for us to tap into (and also acknowledge), what each of our own wants, needs and desires actually are - and then provide the required ‘energy’ in order for us to ‘communicate’ them (or learn to) in a more ‘healthy way’. These four eclipses (whilst they may range in intensity for us as individuals) are a ‘gift’ that reveal to each of us our ‘blind spots’, and serve up our ‘falsehoods’ on a platter to be dealt with. They are a cosmic release valve for all our pent-up ‘resentments’ and all our unmet (as well as often uncommunicated) ‘expectations’ of others. Use these periods to construct a ‘refuge’ within yourself, and be very clear and ‘direct’ about your desires. Each of us is entitled to wants and ‘needs’, and these eclipses enable us to direct the path and forge the life that we want to lead.
Earlier in today’s tale it was noted that Pluto represents our deep energetic instincts, and that this year’s focus will be about aligning with our own ‘innate’ instincts. This is doubly so when the Lunar North Node is in ‘Aries’; this is because what it represents - our ‘willpower’ - is a gift, constructed of our ‘attention’, our ‘intention’, as well as our ‘focus’ (the propulsion of our life force). So 2024 is going to be asking each and every one of use - how are we using our willpower? and towards what? Such questions are going to play-out on a global scale throughout the coming year, but will be felt most pronounced on the solar eclipse date detailed above.
As if the above wasn’t indication enough for what 2024 has in store, we also have another significant transit. ‘Jupiter’ will move from ‘Taurus’ (the sensual throne of your ‘self-worth’ and ‘value’), into ‘Gemini’ (the ‘collaborating’ twins) on 26 May 2024. Jupiter is the student who becomes the ‘wisdom-bearing’ teacher. As a result, the realm of ideas and ‘open-mindedness’ will come to the fore and present us with a golden opportunity for more ‘dialogue’, and a reduction of the ‘ideologue’ we have all become accustomed to witnessing these days.
When Jupiter (linked to growth and expansion), moves into the ‘adaptable’ sign of ‘Gemini’, it indicates a time of increased communication, intellectual ‘exploration’, and the potential for important ‘partnerships’. ‘Gemini’ is known for being flexible and open to new ideas, which makes it great for sharing thoughts and ‘collaborating’. With the planet Jupiter in this sign, it encourages global conversations, ‘teamwork’, and often a willingness to consider different viewpoints (something that is urgently needed in this ‘crazy’ climate of ‘exceptionalism’ that we have found ourselves living in for the past decades).
However, it is imperative that we all approach this period in May 2024 with caution. Jupiter’s tendency to expand things might lead to ‘overconfidence’ or trying to do too much at once. So, it will be important to manage expectations and ‘stay grounded’, especially during the significant moments when Jupiter clashes with ‘Saturn’ in ‘Pisces’ on 19 August and again on 24 December. On a global level, this Jupiter’s shift into ‘Gemini’ could lead to renewed ‘international cooperation’, and even improved ‘educational opportunities’ for all of us, as well as advancements in communication technology. These changes might just encourage people from different ‘places’ and different ‘circumstances’ to share knowledge and ideas for the ‘greater good’.
But before this transit occurs, we have one other important astrological event to note – the Jupiter and ‘Uranus’ conjunction in the sign of ‘Taurus’ on 20 April 2024. Jupiter and Uranus don’t align very often, but when they do, oh boy do they bring about a number of ‘surprises’ (as well as a ‘change’), most importantly they promote ‘growth’. When this alignment happens in the practical sign of ‘Taurus’, it adds an interesting ‘twist’ to our collective experience. The sign of the ‘Bull’ is all about stability, money, and all the practical things in life. ‘Taurus’ likes ‘tradition’ and ‘security’. But Uranus is known for being ‘unpredictable’ and likes to shake things up a bit, which is highly challenging to the Bulls usual manner of doing things.
Such a conjunction suggests the potential for significant ‘innovation’ (especially in finance, agriculture, and the environment), which could lead to other unexpected technological advancements (see a theme here?) that might actually benefit society. However, this innovation will likely face ‘resistance’ from traditional beliefs and norms. There could very well be protests and even campaigns advocating for ‘individual freedoms’ (another common 2024 theme), which (especially given the details above) is highly likely to clash with the ‘established’ order and our usual ways of doing things.
Speaking of the ‘established order’; it should be noted that Pluto’s retrograde into ‘Capricorn’ occurs right around the timing of ‘Election Day’ in the United States of America, producing a rather unique cosmic association. This planetary transit adds an element of ‘uncertainty’ and potential ‘transformation’ to the political atmosphere. And in the run-up to this election, we can expect America to grapple with some profound questions about her (current) ‘authority’, ‘leadership’, and in truth, about the very essence of its (so-called) democratic principles. The outcome of this election could quite possibly be more than just a political decision; it could very well be a ‘cosmic declaration’ of change and ‘evolution’, something that ‘echoes’ the primary themes of Pluto’s transition.
After 19 November 2024, Pluto will resume its journey into the sign of ‘Aquarius’, reaffirming its commitment to ushering in a whole ‘new era’, one that promises to ‘redefine’ the rules of authority and society as a whole (which will be seen on a global scale, not just in the USA). In fact, as Pluto moves into ‘Aquarius’, we might just witness some of the most significant global changes in a ‘lifetime’. The transition could well lead to a complete rethinking of how government, and our ‘societal systems’ work worldwide. The established power structures are likely to be ‘disrupted’, and our long-held understanding of how things actually operate in this world will be ‘questioned’. While these changes will happen gradually over the coming years, they will likely heavily impact how we all think and ‘perceive’ this world during 2024.
But there is more to the movements of Pluto and its relationship with America than just the timing of its transits with the upcoming elections. The USA will also be experiencing its Pluto ‘return’ in 2024, with three important contacts occurring in February, July, and December of this year. The Pluto return marks the period in astrological time when the planet is in the same part of the zodiac sign of ‘Capricorn’ that it was in when the country (as we currently know it to be) was born. The zodiac sign of ‘Capricorn’ represents authority, structure, and to a larger degree ‘tradition’. Pluto is the planet of ‘transformation’ and significant change. As a result, America is destined to undergo a number of significant changes related to its political, economic, and social systems during the coming year.
It is important to note that America will not be the only country experiencing these astrological ‘influences’. The United States (if that isn’t an oxymoron) may have Pluto at the beginning of ‘Capricorn’, but Pluto is entering ‘Capricorn’ for everyone, and the next two years mark the beginning of changes similar to what humanity experienced globally during the late 1700s. That was the last time Pluto entered ‘Capricorn’ and it was a time of significant, and sweeping ‘shifts’ all across the globe as ‘humanity’ transitioned from being under the yoke of monarchy into the leadership of republics and democracies, and all of their associated ‘governance’ structures, as well as (often un-democratic) forms of government. What new modes of ‘leadership’ and forms of governance will the years ahead usher in? And who will they ‘benefit’ in the future?
In addition to the Pluto return, America will also experience its ‘progressed New Moon’ in March 2024. This occurs when the progressed Sun and Moon are ‘conjunct’ (when viewed in a progressed chart, as opposed to a natal chart). This marks a rather significant time, one of ‘new beginnings’, that will set the stage for the next 29 years! The years leading up to this point have been ‘challenging’ for America (particularly during this first month of 2024), as America has been ‘cosmically’ forced to clear away the previous 29-year cycle. The space of time from now until the end of March will be characterised as an intense period of ‘introspection’, ‘evaluation’, and ultimately it will be a time for letting go of what no longer serves (once again, I’m looking at you here Israel). The combined energies of the Pluto return and the progressed New Moon in 2024 have the potential to significantly influence on multiple levels, and do not be surprised if everything feels a little ‘out-of-control’ over the next few months.
It is likely to lead to a massive (and permanent) restructuring of the American political system, which could also involve a number of changes in the ‘balance of power’, or even the emergence of new political ‘ideologies’, and a fundamental shift in the way the government operates and ‘serves’. The progressed New Moon could signify the beginning of a whole new political cycle that may completely redefine the nation's ‘identity’. The transformative energy of Pluto may also bring about some significant shifts in the American economy, which could (once again) lead to the development of new ‘industries’, or it could potentially result in the outright ‘decline’ of many of the well-established ones.
The Pluto return will also have profound effects on the ‘social fabric’ of America. Issues related to power, control, authority, and also ‘women’ will come to the forefront, and this will likely lead to increased ‘activism’, and potentially the establishment of a renewed sense of ‘values’. As the Pluto return signifies a period of ‘transformation’, America will also experience a massive change in its status as a ‘global power’. This will also involve a fundamental shift in the ‘balance of power’ amongst other nations in the world, or even result in America (amongst a select few ‘others’ - this time I’m talking about the UK, and those countries that have been ‘duped’ into supporting them), being branded a ‘pariah’, which will likely lead to the rise of (as yet unheard of) ‘new’ global players and a complete restructuring of global ‘relationships’.
2024 represents a unique and powerful period of ‘metamorphosis’ for the United States of America (and the world at large). We will be witness to the first and only Pluto return in the country's history and the first time Pluto has entered Capricorn in nearly 300 years; so the year ahead has a lot of ‘revelations’ in store for everyone, and as the world changes, we will all have the opportunity to ‘grow’ and ‘evolve’ alongside it. In fact, the decisions and events of 2024 are merely a ‘stepping stone’ to what is coming in 2025 (particularly for America and her erstwhile ‘allies’), which is when ‘Neptune’ also enters the zodiac sign of ‘Aries’. The last time Earth experienced Neptune in ‘Aries’ the USA (and some other pertinent countries) had a ’Civil War’. As such, a constitutional crisis or even a ‘new civil war’ are highly likely to be heading down the line, along with more deadly ‘epidemics’ (another prominent ‘aspect’ of Neptune that was observed last time the watery planet travelled with the ‘Ram’).
Talking of stepping stones. A highly important date for America was ‘1 May 2023’ when Pluto went retrograde within ‘one degree’ of the Pluto return point. This gave us a sneak peek into the ‘influences’ America will experience in 2024. The events of the weeks around that date offer us some important ‘insights’ into the themes and ‘energies’ that will likely be coming into play during this year. Can you remember the events and ‘shifts’ in the world during this time? Reflect on what has already past, in order to ‘see’ into the future, and what ‘fate’ has in store for America.
Before moving onto the rest of the significant dates over the year ahead, lets first take a little detour, and look at a lesser known influence on the events described above. Let’s talk about ‘Eris’. The name Eris (or ‘Discordia’) refers to the ancient Greek goddess of chaos, strife, and discord. The child of ‘Nyx’ and ‘Erebus’, it was her gift of a ‘golden apple’ (the legendary ‘Apple of Discord’) that ultimately resulted in the doom of both ‘Achilles’ and Troy (thanks to the ‘Trojan War’). In order to understand what Eris means to Astrologers (and to our tale today), the following key words come to mind – ‘indiscriminate rage’, ‘slaughter’, and ‘destruction’.
In Greek mythology, in order to ‘reverse’ the order of nature ‘Zeus’ is helped by Eris. There is a profound quality of ‘fate’, of ‘consequence’, and of ‘vengeance’ (specifically against ‘hubris’) signified by the astrological Eris. And Pluto has been ‘squaring’ Eris since the spring of 2016. Now, Pluto moves very slowly, but Eris moves even slower. This square became exact in 2020 (Trump was elected that autumn, and proceeded to reveal America’s ‘shadow’, in a way that was beyond anything we had seen before). To complicate matters (and add another ‘factor’ to the astrological year described above), this square occurs ‘conjunct’ America’s Pluto Return. So what exactly does that mean? It means it is time for some ‘Big Karma’ for the USA.
But Eris has been squaring America’s Pluto since 1989 you might shout, and it has been doing so in an (almost) exact position since 1992, so why be concerned now? Well, America’s Pluto return will last throughout 2024. The Eris square to Pluto will be lasting right the way through to the 2030’s, so America’s appointment with destiny (with Eris) is actually a long term relationship (and it is important to note that the more Eris is ‘resisted’, the more intense the crisis). The 2020 American presidential election was ‘ground zero’. That election became a sort of ‘referendum’ on what it actually means to be ‘American’.
It is possible that a ‘theocratic’ dictatorship may raise its ugly head in a coup attempt (or worse) during the 2024 elections in America, accompanied by acts of terror and economic collapse of some kind. Which (hopefully) will only galvanise the American people’s sense of ‘purpose’, and help them consider that ‘karma’ has brought them here for this experience. ‘You’ have something to learn and something to ‘contribute’, and the most powerful ‘energetic current’ will be associated with bringing ‘justice’ to those who have been ‘wronged’ for far too long. But this spectrum of ‘vengeful anger’ (whether that be from the continued arguing about politics and faith online, or acts of politically motivated violence), is not the way to get the best out of ‘Eris square Pluto’, and America will have to learn that lesson fast.
If America (and indeed all of us) wants to get the most out of ‘Eris square Pluto’, then there is an urgent need to extinguish all ‘grudges’. Instead examine ‘your’ potential. Are you up to something that you really shouldn’t be? Have you been routinely taking ‘advantage’ of the dispossessed in some way? What do you need to do in order to bring more ‘justice’ to your activities? How can you help not only yourself but people who have a ‘right’ to feel that they’ve been ‘wronged’? Are you able help them find out that life offers them more ‘opportunity’ and ‘support’ than they ever expected? Can you ‘give’ without expecting anything in return? Do you ‘discriminate’ in the use of your resources in ways that serve the ‘greater good’? Above all, can you learn the ‘lessons’ that have been handed down to you? And whatever you do - don’t invite chaos to your wedding! Look at the wider world from the ‘perspective’ of Eris, and you may just find some serious ‘healing’, not only for yourself, but for others (oh Israel, once more my gaze falls upon you at the utterance of these words).
Enough of America (they’re not the centre of the universe after all – despite their ‘hubristic’ beliefs). One thing that is clear from the stars, is the ‘warlike’ conditions across the Earth during 2024, and the brawling between nations is likely to become rather ‘ugly’. Earlier in today’s tale of astrological influences was mentioned the Mercury ‘retrograde’. Well, Mercury isn’t the only planet out there to undergo such a ‘regression’, each of the planets experience such, and in 2024 we have some ‘pivotal’ retrogrades. The first of these we have already identified – Pluto will be retrograde from 2 May till 1 October 2024 – This will initiate a time of power ‘changing hands’. Expect government(s), corporations, and the financial ‘elite’ to experience some very ‘meaningful’ changes during this period (changes that there is no ‘coming back’ from).
Close on the heels of Pluto returning to ‘Capricorn’, Saturn will go retrograde on 29 June 2024 until 15 November. Although Saturn doesn’t lose its ‘power’ during its retrograde periods (like all the other planets do), when such events occur ‘Karmic’ adjustments have to take place. And these will be heightened by Neptune going retrograde from 2 July till 7 December 2024 – we can not escape the immense ‘epiphanies’ that will occur over these months as the dreamy planet loses all of its ‘hypnotic’ powers. Humanity is likely to realise that certain ‘structures’ need to be ‘dissolved’ (not only will such realisation occur, but the important question of ‘why’ such needs to happen will be revealed to all). A golden opportunity for humanity to start creating a completely new ‘Earth’, one that is based on true ‘compassion’.
Finally, on 1 September 2024 Uranus will go retrograde (until 30 January 2025), which will be an end of year chance for humanity to ‘catch their breath’ after the accelerated ‘changes’ that Uranus and Pluto (not to mention Jupiter during the Spring) have been ushering in throughout the year. It will be a period of time for us to all ‘collectively’ review what has occurred over 2024 and ‘digest’ the true meaning of ‘transformation’ (and what that actually means for all of us in the years ahead). It is important to note that during this time Uranus is also ‘sextile’ Neptune (from June until December), which will ‘manifest’ in many of us experiencing a vivid ‘spiritual awakening’, as the world of ‘dreams’ and ‘intuition’ receives a ‘charged’ injection of ‘occult’ adrenaline. The end of 2024 will be an immensely ‘inventive’, as well as a profoundly ‘creative’ time (both personally and collectively).
Now, to conclude todays tale I would like to attempt something that, in truth, doesn’t sit well with me. Astrology is the art of ‘prediction’ (so they say), but such is a delicate craft, one that is prone to ‘misinterpretation’ and the influence of ‘other’ actors at times. However, the stars have revealed a very ‘transformative’ year ahead, and the details shared above are really only the tip of a massive iceberg (and I’m not just singling out America and Israel here when I state that). If it’s good enough for all those billionaires, its good enough for the beggars. So, lets finish with some ‘looking glass’ events for the year ahead; a year which has ‘Mars’ presiding over it (if you follow Vedic Astrology), and some planetary combinations that will have a ‘tectonic’ effect on life here on ‘Earth’.
So, without further ado, here are some more ‘precise predictions’ about (some) specific countries over 2024 that the cosmos has revealed. I predict increased earthquakes, cyclones, hurricanes, and forest fires all over the world (whether manufactured or ‘strangely’ natural events, the calamities we witnessed in 2023 are likely to repeat themselves with greater intensity during 2024). The stock market is likely to become ‘bearish’ during the last two weeks of July 2024, and will start to recover during the month of November (millionaires take note).
For America, it is clear that foreign relations are going to deteriorate and ‘war’ tensions will escalate during 2024, especially around the time of the ‘election’. The death rate is also likely to increase, and the health of ‘women’ is likely to suffer the most (it is also possible that ‘infant mortality’ spikes in a concerning way during the middle of the year). As noted above in terms of global ‘catastrophes’, America is likely to experience an increase in tropical cyclones and hurricanes (the possibility of three or more category five hurricanes is highly likely, with the most destructive occurring during the second week of August 2024).
For the UK and Europe, there will be chaos in the UK government (particularly the cabinet in the run up to the election at the end of the year), and there may even be a change of power within the existing ruling party that postpones the planned election. A new ‘pandemic’ is very likely to affect the health of the whole of Europe, which will be exacerbated by catastrophic floods (which always bring ‘disease’ with them). The areas of Europe impacted the most by these floods (and possibly earthquakes), will be Greece, Portugal, and Denmark. Lastly, I predict a high probability of some sort of ‘airplane accident’ in Europe during the fourth week of March 2024 (potentially there will be a second – related – flight accident during the second week of April).
For Russia and the Ukraine, the crime rate in both countries is likely to skyrocket, along with increased terrorist attacks and a deterioration of relationships with neighbours (however, I also see Russia having much smoother international relations than we have seen over the past decades, particularly as America turns inwards in the run up to the election). The war is unlikely to fundamentally change during 2024, and thus the negative impact on Ukraine’s agricultural sector, and specifically that countries ‘communication systems’ will suffer (and continue to see a downfall), with farmers struggling and the government possibly heavy handedly quashing the peoples ‘freedom of speech’ and discussion of such calamities.
For Israel (and the wider Middle East), the current conflict with neighbours will reach an ‘interim’ solution late April 2024, and the region will become preoccupied with some high intensity earthquakes during the months of March and April which may facilitate ‘joint working’ to deal with (especially given that the stars also suggest the possibility of flash floods across Israel and Gaza in the later weeks of April). Just as the region recovers from these ‘spring’ events, further large scale earthquakes will hit the middle east throughout July and August 2024. I also predict another strange flight accident (or air related occurrence) in Saudi Arabia during the second week of March 2024, with a famous personality in the film or entertainment industry either dying, or facing extreme danger as a result.
For India, I predict that there will be sustained terrorist attacks from a neighbouring country throughout April and July 2024, with the possibility of a major fire incident in the July. There is also a high probability of a massive train accident in the first week of March 2024. There will be widespread crop failure (as well as the ‘destruction’ of crops - purposefully done), leading to mass poverty which will be exacerbated by catastrophic floods across Mumbai and Gujarat, with the most destructive (possibly even a tsunami) occurring between the first and third weeks of December. As for Afghanistan and Pakistan, the floods in India will be ‘reciprocated’ all across these countries, resulting in similar crop failures, which will be exacerbated by violent earthquakes in the month of July, with one of the worst seen likely to strike in the second half of August 2024. All told, this part of ‘Earth’ is going to struggle during 2024 with massive misery being the result for the people who live there.
For China and Japan, I see the Chinese economy (particularly in terms of ‘revenue’) being severely disrupted, which will negatively impact the wealth of its population and ‘undo’ the progress experienced over the past years. The economic impact will be mostly observed as a ‘slowdown’ in their imports and exports, whilst the countries job market actually expands, and the financial (banking) sector flourishes during the latter part of the year. In the case of Japan, I predict a short lived ‘conflict’ which results in chaos within the government. Like Europe, public health issues and ‘viral’ infections appear to be prominent after July 2024 and into 2025. There is also the high possibility of a major earthquake (and associated tsunami) in the last week of June 2024, resulting in a violent fire related incident (or another nuclear reactor accident) in the first and second week of July.
I haven’t seen anything major for South America, Australasia, or Africa in the stars during 2024. That is not to say there are not going to be major ‘changes’ and ‘events’, it’s just that the stars clearly indicate the above predictions more than any others (especially when one views the natal charts of those countries against the cosmic ‘movements’ of 2024). Now, I have to caveat all of the above with the fact that I am no ‘Nostradamus’, merely a soul who looks to the night sky for guidance…

Thank you, Seraphim for returning. I have always found your work instructive, and requiring of more than one read, and your latest continues this tradition.
I will attempt to offer a more significant commentary after my second read!
Best wishes.
>>America will also experience its ‘progressed New Moon’ in March 2024.
Thank you so much for mentioning this. I've read plenty about the Pluto return, but this is the first mention I've seen of the progressed New Moon. Please share the date on this event.
Your analysis is very instructive. Will continue digesting it and no doubt returning to it for reminders over the course of this coming year!
